UpDogYoga is a small, cosy yoga studio in the heart of Amager.
Here everybody is welcome. Beginners and yogis that have practice yoga for many years comes here. We have around 10 drop in classes every week and it is not nessecary to sign up for class if you are a member, you just drop in. You have a free trial class, so if you would like to try it out first, just drop by for a free class and let your instructor know that this is your first time. We have mats in the studio. Whenever needed the classes will be taught in English.
cecilie Svendsen Is the owner of UpDogYoga in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Cecilie has taught yoga for 8 years
She has a warm and loving approach to her teaching and believes that everyone can benefit from yoga.
She teaches gentle hatha and vinyasa Flow, Theapeutic Yin yoga and Kundalini yoga,
as well as destress, thats a combnation of restorativ yoga poses and massage of the body's fascia.
In addition, she offers sessions in Yoga Massage and Yoga Therapy.
Through the years she have had more than 150 clients
and from her work with them, she came up with her own therapeutic approach to healing the body,
mind and person. With yoga, meditation , breath control, touch and sound.

Yoga retreat in Bali 2018
1th - 8th March 2018
Rejuvenate your body, mind and spirit on the island of Gods. Experience the magical and transformative power of Bali. Immerse yourself in a one in a lifetime experience on this Bali rejuvenating yoga and meditation retreat. In this sacred paradise we will nourish ourselves with daily yoga and meditation classes, 3 delicious meals per day, salt water pool, trekking in amazing surroundings, snorkeling on the beach, rainforest and Tempel visits, optional luxurious spa treatment and ample time for relaxation and contemplation. This retreat will leave your body renewed and your soul in bliss. This will only be the beginning of a lifetime transformation. The programme will include two daily sessions of transformative yoga and meditation. Our Sunrise morning yoga will alternate between energising vinyasa yoga and a more restorative Yin yoga practice and our evening session of meditation will be calming and healing. As we connect to the energies of the earth and the universe and unite the two poles, we access our own power within.
Location We will be staying in a Non-profit retreat centre in a stunning location in a non-touristy part of Northern Bali called Tejakula. Overlooking the Sea on a mountain top surrounded by lush nature and their own big organic garden which will provide most of the ingredients for our Balinese meals. We will be right next to the Ocean and it will be possible to take the shuttle bus down to the beach and back all day long. This center is a Non-profit foundation where all their activities are embarked on together with the local authorities and supported by the local community. Some projects undertaken in the last few years include coral reef rebuilding, providing school lunches and scholarships, sponsoring conservation education, supporting Tejakula’s first municipal waste disposal system, funding ashram and cultural programs for children, and more. Daily Schedule 7:00-7:25 Morning meditation and pranayama, 7:30-9.30 Long morning yoga practice., 9:30-10.00 Breakfast . 10:00-17:00 Free time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings . 17:00-18.30 Yoga with other teacher 19:00- 20:30 Dinner.
Day of contemplation On the forth day we will experience a full day in silence. This is an amazing opportunity to concentrate on the divine within. Silencecan help us to reach a different level of consciousness and a better understanding of one self.Teacher Cecilie Svendsen is an experienced yoga teacher with more than 500 hours of credited training and with thousands of hours of teaching exprience. Owner of Up Dog Yoga in Copenhagen.Activities It will be possible to arrange for other activities such as visiting a shamanic spiritual guide, visiting a local healer, cocking and weaving courses.Yoga platform Our Yoga platform is located directly below the dining terrace, one side of the room is totally open, looking out on a lotus-filled rainwater collection pool and lush green surroundings. In this beautiful setting we will enjoy our long Morning Yoga and evening meditation sessions deeply reconnecting with Creation and find stillness within.Temple visit On one of the days, we will be taken to the black sandstone temple of Ponjok Batu, which is one of Balis most important Sea temples. Here we will have the chance to experience a Balinese Hindu Cleansing and purification Ceremony. Walking Trails The place is criss-crossed with walking trails that range from gentle strolls to more strenuous full-day treks. Explore the four hectare estate, hike along the ridge dropping down to the Yeh Lalang river, or journey through traditional villages, temples, orchards and jungle gorges. Serious mountain bikers can bash down muddy tracks and rough village byways, or follow the road up to the hill villages for stunning views around Madenan. Sustainability The water at the centre is untreated, and comes from a natural spring. The the use of chemicals is minimized; the swimming pool is a saltwater pool and they have built a wastewater garden to filter grey water. The organic gardens produce delicious vegetables, following principles of reuse and recycle. The electricity use is mindful - the centre uses low-consumption bulbs and natural ventilation instead of air-conditioning. In line with this holistic approach, food is vegetarian. Food We will be served 2 daily buffets which comprise a varity of delicious healthy nutritious balanced vegetarian dishes from the Indonesian kitchen. Where possible they use ingredients souced from their own organic gardens surrounding the place or from local supermarkets. At the terrace, guests can freely help themselves to mineral water, green and herbal teas, Balinese coffee and cocoa throughout the day. If you wish to order fresh pressed fruit- and vegetable juices, lassies, and specialist coffees, this is also possible. Salt Water Pool The salt water pool is built on a mountain terrace, with uninterrupted views across the verdant orchards to where the distant ocean meets the sky. Play… exercise overlooking the resplendent valley or simply relax on the wide stone terrace. The pool is large enough for doing laps and there is a stone terrace alongside that is suitable for bodywork and yoga. Spa Rejuvenate body,mind and soul at the Rainforest Spa. Select from the menu of diverse South East Asian, Indian and Western inspired beauty and health treatments. You can pamper yourself with their special spa and Deluxe packages. All the ingredients are carefully selected, and the well trained and friendly staff will ensure you have the care you need to rejuvenate your spirit. Practical thingsTravel Guests are responsible for organizing their own transport to Bali. It is recommended to book the flights to Denpasar airport Ngurah Rai (DPS) as early as possible. Additionel nights stay please let me know if you would like to stay for additional nights and I will check with the retreat centre for availability. Please dont book your flight before you have a confirmation from UpDogYoga. Airport transfer The location of the retreat is a 3-hour drive from the airport and transfers can be organised beforehand.
